Story: My Baking History
I started baking using brownies and cake mix box mid of 2014. I’ve always had a sweet tooth and I was being ‘kuripot’ that I didn’t want to spend too much just to eat cakes or brownies, duh. Are we on the same page here?
Doing it for the first time almost made me give up even if there is already an
instruction at the back of the box, but my friend told me that first timers are allowed to make mistakes. In order to be the best in what you do, you have to face failures and disappointments, but that will only push and inspire you to do better each time until you become excellent.
Thanks to Youtube, Pasty Chef friends and a little mixing up from me, I was able to do it gradually and I’m proud to say (by the grace of God) that I have made something from scratch that I can actually call my own because of my churchmate’s feasib that they named: COOKIE MONSTER
Cookie Monster is obviously, a COOKIE, with a twist. It is a combination of chewy and moist coffee cookie with a hint of Malunggay Leaves. I am thinking of another name for it, but… I’m still thinking up to now.
I’ve also made a few batches of cakes, cupcakes and muffins, but the best I’ve baked so far (and my favorite, too) is my DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHIP BANANA MUFFIN – where I use the “Senyorita” (organic local Banana) from my Uncle and Grandpa’s farm.
I cannot say that I have already mastered everything about baking because I believe that in order to be a real pastry chef, I have to study baking and honestly, I have no time for that. I am always open to learn more and I know that I can achieve whatever I put my heart into.
And, more than anything else, I have to thank GOD for always giving me wisdom and knowledge to do the impossible (Luke 1:37 – For NOTHING is impossible with God).
